The Lofotr Viking Festival is held in August at the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg, in the Lofoten Islands above the Arctic Circle in Norway. The museum is built around the largest Viking Age longhouse ever found, and the festival is the most remote major Viking event in the Nordics.

Ribe International Viking Market

The Ribe International Viking Market runs for a full week at the turn of April and May at Ribe VikingeCenter outside Ribe, Denmark's oldest town, about an hour from Billund Airport. With several hundred Vikings from across Europe it is one of the largest Viking markets on the continent, and it opens the Nordic season each year.

Avaldsnes Viking Festival

Karmøy, Norway

The Avaldsnes Viking Festival is held in early June at the Viking farm on Bukkøy, Karmøy, twenty minutes from Haugesund Airport on Norway's west coast. Avaldsnes was the seat of Harald Fairhair, Norway's first king, and the festival is the largest of its kind in western Norway, with more than 200 Vikings camping on the island.

Foteviken Viking Market

Höllviken, Sweden

Foteviken Viking Market is held in late June at the Foteviken Museum in Höllviken, Sweden, about 50 minutes from Copenhagen Airport across the Øresund Bridge. It is the largest Viking market in Scandinavia, with several hundred reenactors camping on site for four days.

Gamla Uppsala Viking Festival

The Gamla Uppsala Viking Festival is held in mid-June at the royal burial mounds outside Uppsala, 45 minutes north of Stockholm by train. It is Sweden's largest Viking Age festival, with reenactors from several countries camping beside the mounds and around 3,000 visitors over the weekend.
